  First Musical Academy is the only organisation in Newham that was selected by Youth Music and Sound Connections to run the 'Youth Music Mentors' program funded by the Department of Arts, Culture and Sports. This program has now been renewed due to its success for one more year and will run again for  ten new participants in 2010/2011. The programme includes:

 

  - Ongoing one-to-one and group mentoring

  - A series of Compositional workshops and training

  - Perfromance Workshops

  - Participation in performance classes and concerts at Stratford circus, London
  - Recording sessions at Kingsdale Arts College London
